Shanghai sculptor Chen Dapeng is now officially part of the UK-China Year of Cultural Exchange. This will be announced in two days time at China’s No. 1 prestige venue: The Great Hall of the People in Tianneman Square, Beijing. Effectively, this constitutes Chinese government recognition of the importance of his promotional efforts on behalf of the PRC.
Chen Dapeng has, of course, booked a 197 sq. m. stand at Olympia’s Winter Art & Antiques Fair. In fact, he will be the largest exhibitor at this year’s fair, which marks the 25th anniversary of the top drawer event. The Fair takes place from November 2-8. On the evening of November 2 there will be a champagne launch on Stand A25, Chen Dapeng’s stand and at 6.30 pm there will be the unveiling of a sculpture of a most prominent figure in British public life.
Earlier in the day, there will be a press photo call at 10.00 in Olympia’s National Hall. The event this week at The Great Hall of the People takes place on October 28 at 1030 hours. It will preview the exhibit and make the official announcement about the sculptor’s participation in The UK-China Year of Cultural Exchange.
Chen Dapeng will arrive in the UK on October 30.
